My name is Yanar, I’m a UK-based health, fitness and wellness editor and have embarked on a two-year yoga therapy qualification with The Minded Institute. I’ve set up this blog to explore the myriad ways yoga practices can improve our mental, physical and emotional health.
What is yoga therapy?
Yoga therapy is the application of yoga practices and principles to help manage health conditions and specific health needs.
It’s a mind-body approach and the course is evidence-based and rooted in science and medicine.
This blog will be a space to share the learnings, wisdom and discoveries and to hopefully spark some interest and motivation.
Following a lifelong interest in physical and mental wellness, I’ve recently developed a special interest in yoga for Parkinson’s and yoga for stress and anxiety.
I’ve been practising classical, integral yoga for almost 15 years and have personally experienced the transformational benefits of yoga, meditation and breathwork. I’m curious to see how different types of people and different types of bodies can benefit in some way from these practices.
